He was fascinated with comics and superhero content like X-men, mighty morphin’ power rangers, justice league, ninja turtles and street fighter. He saw himself in some of the characters but he noticed a lack of heroes of color that were actually created by people of color. He also noticed that the city of Chicago didn’t have a mainstream hero or hero group. With this he set Out to be the one to create a black hero for Chicago. he formed kingdome KOMICS LLC, and began to write his original character BlakMane©️. The story is loosely based on Joe because he believes that everyone has a story to tell. Joe has been looking to make ways for others to tell their stories as well. In 2023 he and his friend Xavier ingerson started the bro Nem podcast so that other Chicago creators and artists can come and share their stories. This is where he developed the stage name King Joey. It also stems from the the fact that he is the king of kingdome KOMICS.

Joe wants to be an inspiration to the youth of Chicago because the city is known for gun violence, murder and crime. With so many talented people in Chicago, Joe hopes to bring a more positive light to his hometown. Joe also wants to create comics and stories that promote love honor and respect for his belief in God above all other things. The name kingdome is meant to be a monument to God and the kingdom of heaven.
